Heart Surgeon Reveals 5 Daily Habits of Longevity
Every day is a challenge for us as we deal with problems, tasks, hectic work, mental instabilities which could be caused by various factors, of which the main cause is our challenging lifestyle. As we are getting close to the digital world, our lifestyle has shifted significantly. We have left out with heart-to-heart talks with friends, close people, relatives or even with partners. We are now skipping nature walks, activities, traveling like before. Still, there are many people who manage such tasks with all the activities, like being in nature, socializing with people etc. But in reality, many people are isolated from the world.
It is not good for our physical and mental health as all experts suggest. To live a long and happy life, we must follow daily habits which are good for our health, both mental and physical. Recently, a heart surgeon with 25 years of experience, has revealed FIVE daily habits we can adapt to.
In a November 4 Instagram post, board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Jeremy London, MD, who has more than 25 years of expertise in the field, stressed the importance of heart health by listing five habits that have been shown to extend life.
1. Work out
According to Dr. Jeremy, exercise is the most important daily behavior for extending lifespan. He emphasized that the key ingredient is a blend of aerobic and strength training.
2. Food
The heart surgeon said that the next daily habit would have to be a diet. “Be mindful about what you put in your mouth like protein, fibre, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. This is truly the information that you give every cell in your body.”
3. Recuperation and rest
Rest and recovery is the next daily practice that enhances lifespan, according to the heart surgeon. “We know that this is where the magic really happens. Sleep is king, but be mindful to create space for yourself throughout the day.”
4. Connections
According to Dr. Jeremy, meaningful connections would be the fourth behavior necessary to live longer. “Surround yourself with people who add purpose and truly add value to your life. He said, “I adore the Arthur Brooks line, Real friends, not deal friends.”
5. Heat therapy and sauna
Finally, Dr. Jeremy advised utilizing sauna and heat therapy to increase life expectancy. The heart surgeon emphasized their advantages, saying, “Follow the prescribed protocol. You lower your cardiovascular risk, all-cause mortality, as well as your risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia.”
