O’Romeo Director Vishal Bhardwaj Expresses Interest in Making Mahabharata Film Like Aamir Khan, Deets Inside

Vishal Bhardwaj is known for showing shades of love in the most poetic form in his movies. Sometimes, love is laced with thrillers and action that keep you intrigued. This month, the director had a theatrical release after several years with O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary. Vishal recently expressed his interest in making a film on Mahabharata.

Before Vishal Bhardwaj, Aamir Khan also expressed his interest in making a film on the epic Mahabharata. Calling it one of his ambitious projects he wants to work on, the O’Romeo director said that he wants to adapt the entire saga to contemporary times. However, the director also believes it is a huge task, but he has already done some work on it.

The Haider filmmaker also told PTI, “I’m not sure if it will be my next project. Right now, it’s time to celebrate ‘O Romeo’. Another director who expressed his interest in making a film on Mahabharata is SS Rajamouli. It would be intriguing to see who will be the one to bring the project to life first.

Coming to O’Romeo, the film has been doing quite well at the box office. As of now, the film has earned Rs 55.76 crore at the Indian box office (net), and the worldwide collection is Rs 83.29 crore. The film is Vishal and Shahid Kapoor’s fourth film after Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon.
