On November 15, 2026, the teaser of Varanasi was unveiled in a grand event held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. It showcased Mahesh Babu as blood-soaked Rudhra, holding a trishul, and riding a bull. Priyanka Chopra Jonas essays the role of Mandakini while Prithviraj portrays the role of a villain named Kumbha. Since the teaser, fans have been spying on the makers and lead actors to drop some updates regarding the release date or the entire cast ensemble. 

On January 5, 2026, the teaser was presented at the renowned Le Grand Rex theatre. It is the first time a glimpse of the Indian movie was showcased at this popular location. Le Grand Rex’s official account stated, “First look at the highly anticipated film by S. S. Rajamouli, #Varanasi, set to hit the big screen in 2027.” The post immediately sparked conversations, leaving fans intrigued to know formal release details from the makers.
