Scam 1992 Tops IMDb’s Indian Streaming Charts Even After 5 Years; Criminal Justice, Black Warrant Seize Spots

Even after five years, “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story” is still dominating IMDb’s list of Most Popular Indian Series. Over the past decade, “Mirzapur” has been seizing the title consistently. This time, Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment have achieved a significant milestone after three of their series have bagged a position on IMDb’s list. Besides, “Scam: 1992,” “Criminal Justice,” and “Black Warrant appear on this prestigious list.

On Tuesday, IMDb, the Amazon-owned entertainment database, released its new report, titled ‘10 Years of Streaming in India: An IMDb Report 2026’. It examines the ‘Top 10 Most Popular Indian Series’ for each year from 2016 to 2026, covering 110 chart positions and 64 unique titles. The rankings are based on page views generated by the series on IMDb, which attracts more than 250 million visitors worldwide every month.

Scam 1992 began streaming in October 2020. Since then, it has topped IMDb’s list of the most popular shows. On the other hand, “Criminal Justice” has earned a spot four times on this prestigious list for 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2025. The widely acclaimed “Black Warrant” made it to the 2025 list. 

As reported by IMDb, titles like Mirzapur, Scam 1992, The Family Man, Criminal Justice, and Panchayat have been consistently earning a spot in the most popular series category. Secondly, the continued presence of actors including Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Ali Fazal, Jitendra Kumar, Kapil Sharma, and Sunil Grover is also worth applauding.
