As days pass, the love for the iconic franchise, “Awarapan,” grows stronger. With the sequel, “Awarapan 2,” hitting theatres on Aug. 14, 2026,  fans are now counting down the days until its grand theatrical release. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. Amplifying the buzz, producer Vishesh Bhatt, along with lead actors Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, went live on Instagram to interact with fans. They announced Aug. 6 as the trailer release date, while offering several intriguing insights into the film.

“Awarapan 2” brings back Emraan Hashmi as Shivam Pandit alongside Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal and Atul Kumar. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqui, every update surrounding the film is sparking buzz online. During the candid conversation, Vishesh Bhatt also addressed the question that fans have been asking for years: Why did Awarapan 2 take so long to happen? Putting an end to the countless speculations and theories surrounding the sequel, the producer shared the heartfelt reason behind its long journey to the big screen.

The producer shared, “Awarapan 2 ko itne saal isliye lag gaye ki Awarapan 1 ke baad mein, very honestly, aap sabko jo aap Awarapan 1 ke fans hain, aapko malum hai ki 19 saal lag gaye logon ko Awarapan samajhne mein ek tareeke se, Awarapan se pyaar karne se. Awarapan is not just a film, it’s a journey, it’s a journey of Shivam. Aur wo soulful journey ke sath mein I wanted to continue the narrative.” 

On the other hand, the live interaction also put an end to the endless rumours and speculations suggesting the postponement of the film. Mukesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films present “Awarapan 2,” under the banner of Vishesh Bhatt Production. Now, fans await the anticipated release of the film, which will be locking horns with “Batwara 1947” at the box office.
