Awarapan 2: Arijit Singh Comes Back From Retirement For Emraan Hashmi, Internet Reacts
There’s good news for Arijit Singh fans as the singer makes a major comeback to playback singing with Awarapan 2’s soundtrack titled Yeh Awarapan. Composed by Amaal Malik, the song’s lyrics are penned by Rashmi Virag. As soon as the makers released the song, fans expressed their joy and excitement for the artist’s return to his beloved craft.
Starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead role, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 14 August 2026. For the unversed, the previously released song, Ve Junoon, has garnered a massive response with 30 million-plus YouTube views. Additionally, it has secured a second spot on the YouTube Trending list and a place on Spotify India’s Top 100. Escalating the buzz, Vishesh Films and Sony Music India have now unveiled the full version of Yeh Awarapan.
Awarapan 2 Marks Arijit Singh’s Comeback to Playback Music
Awarapan 2’s second music track is penned by Rashmi-Virag. The song is soaked in the love, longing, and redemption that have always been the Awarapan universe’s calling card, and it’s the kind of track that sneaks up on you and stays. The song features Emraan Hashmi, who wears intensity like a second skin; raw, brooding, and unmistakably emotional. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t try too hard to move you; it just does.
Moreover, Arijit’s voice, Amaal’s composition, and Rashmi-Virag’s words sit together so effortlessly; it is hard to imagine one without the other on this track. All in all, Yeh Awarapan isn’t just a song for the film; it feels like it was always meant to exist within Shivam Pandit’s world. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 is bankrolled by Vishesh Bhatt. For him, this song is personal too. Arijit’s very first Hindi film song came from a Vishesh Films production, and years later, the association is still going strong, this time with a song that carries the same emotion, depth, and timelessness that has defined their journey together.
The title track of Awarapan 2 is out now on all streaming platforms via Sony Music India. Alongside the lead, the film also boasts a stellar cast including Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Atul Kumar, and Aniruddh Rawal.
For the unaware, the artist announced his retirement in January this year. While the Internet is wondering if the artist has made a comeback, his manager has denied the rumours. “He is just completing the projects that were finalised when the retirement was announced. Arijit isn’t doing a comeback in playback singing. These are old commitments,” he added.
