Niagara Falls is one of the most well-known and picturesque places in the world, particularly in the winter and its breathtaking scenery has drawn visitors for many years. The vista is now simply breathtaking and magnificent, with spectacular ice cliffs covering the falls.

Visitors crowded observation places on the US and Canadian sides, snapping pictures of huge ice formations clutching the cliffs as strong water flows continued to roar beneath the frozen surface. In spite of the sub-zero temperatures, visitors dared to see the ice encrusted trees, partially frozen waterfalls and hazy vapors that gave the scene an otherworldly aspect.

Despite the enormous amount of water pouring over the edge, Niagara Falls never freezes completely, but extreme temperatures may cause spectacular ice accumulation, meaning, a seasonal occurrence that attracts photographers and winter tourists from all over the globe.

The frozen display is anticipated to last as long as temperatures stay below freezing, providing a brief glimpse of one of the most beautiful winter landscapes in the world.

A partial freeze was brought on by a strong rush of Arctic air brought about by disturbances in the polar vortex, a ring of high winds that usually confines cold air close to the North Pole.
