Mumbai Police debunk hoax about the 12 children missing in 36 hours in the city. Now, the Mumbai Police has shared a tweet on X stating about the situation and the facts. A report that 12 young children had gone missing throughout Mumbai in 36 hours went viral on social media, causing widespread panic among the citizens. The Mumbai Police filed an FIR in response.

In Mumbai, the police have emphatically refuted the allegations and made it clear that there have been no incidents of mass child abductions or missing people.

“Some social media accounts are spreading false information and rumors concerning missing and abducted children,” the Mumbai Police stated in an official statement posted on X. These assertions are totally untrue. The police also stated that anyone found to have been involved in disseminating the fake warning would face severe legal consequences.

“In this regard, the process has been initiated to register offenses (FIR) along with strict legal action against those deliberately spreading false information to create an atmosphere of fear among the public,” the post continued.

The viral message made the false claim that 12 young children, including eight girls between the ages of eight and fifteen, had gone missing from seven police station boundaries in Mumbai in the previous 36 hours. The Mumbai Police have refuted these claims and urged the public to refrain from disseminating unverified information on social media.
