Who is John Ternus? Soon to Become Apple’s CEO as Tim Cook Steps Down in September
John Ternus is next in line after Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, steps down. A leadership shift is now taking place at Apple, a massive technology firm with stores all over the world and a large customer base worldwide.
Since 2011, Cook has been in charge of Apple, succeeding co-founder Steve Jobs, who left due to health issues shortly before his passing. Since joining Apple in 2001 at the age of 50, Ternus has been instrumental in the development of important products, such as Macs, iPads and AirPods.
He contributed to the recovery of Mac sales and improved Apple’s product range by introducing premium Pro models alongside less priced gadgets as the head of hardware engineering, according to the reports.
Tim Cook will resign from his position as CEO of the tech behemoth in September, passing the torch to longtime company veteran John Ternus, Apple said Monday.
According to the company, John Ternus will succeed Tim Cook as Apple’s executive chairman and the iPhone manufacturer will be led by John Ternus as CEO. The news addresses persistent concerns about a successor for Cook, 65, who has stated that he will take over as executive chairman of the board when he steps down as CEO of Apple, as per media reports.
