You must be excited? Because it’s coming, it’s happening. Yes, the FIFA World Cup wait is finally over. All teams are ready to make this year the most memorable and thrilling. Let’s check out the timings in India, live-streaming details, list of performers for the opening ceremony and other details.

Before the tournament’s first match between Mexico and South Africa, Mexico City will host a lavish opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026. With 48 teams competing in 104 matches held in Mexico, Canada and the United States, this year’s competition will be the largest FIFA World Cup ever. FIFA has planned three opening ceremonies in the three host countries, beginning with Mexico City, to commemorate the event.

Opening Ceremony:

The first opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in Mexico City Stadium on Thursday. The ceremony will start at 11 pm. IST for spectators in India. The ceremony will begin about 90 minutes before the opening match. It is estimated that the occurrence would last about 16 minutes and 30 seconds.

Live Streaming:

Live-streaming of the opening ceremony will be on Unite8 Sports 1, Unite8 Sports 1 HD, Unite8 Sports 2 and Unite8 Sports 2 HD. On the Zee5 website and mobile app, live-streaming of the event will also be an option, according to the reports.

Performances:

Shakira and Burna Boy, two international music superstars, are slated to perform the official FIFA World Cup song, Dai Dai, as the ceremony’s main act. Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Angeles Azules, Mana, Shakira, Tyla and Burna Boy are among the well-known musicians slated to perform in Mexico City.

A powerful Canadian line-up, featuring Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Alyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Buble, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince, will be present at Toronto’s ceremony. In the interim, Los Angeles will host a global array of performers, including Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla. The commencement ceremony will not mark the conclusion of the festivities. Shakira will headline the World Cup halftime show with Madonna and BTS on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium, reported by ANI.
