In today’s digital world, we can’t even stay without smartphones and laptops as our complete work is highly dependent on that. But excessive screen time can impact our physical and mental health. That’s why we need to minimize screen time as much as possible. We work an entire day working on a laptop or personal computer and later, we spend our maximum time on our mobile phone. Today, smartphones have become our next best friend, but we have to remember that smartphones are made for us and we are not made for them.

Minimizing the usage of extra screen time is really very important. Let’s focus on some strategies that we can adapt to change the bad habit.

1) Spend More Time Socializing: Don’t be so addicted to smartphones, we must learn that we are social animals and we need to socialize with people. Try to go to social events, music concerts or attend any workshop, lecture, do offline courses. Try to chat with friends, make one on one conversations, laugh with them and spend quality time with family or friends. Arrange a get together or party.

2) Spend More Time in Nature: We should spend more time in nature. We can go for any tour or trip, for hiking. We can enjoy water sports also. A walk in nature or a walk in the morning is also beneficial.

3) Digital Detox: Try to avoid social media. Adapt a digital detox for a while. In that time, focus on goals, work or take a holiday and go for retreat or rejuvenation.

4) Read Books: Reading books can help to stay away from screen time. It provides us with a kind of peace. Try to read some engaging books that interest you.

5) Skincare: While using smartphones, make sure that you are using sunscreen because the light of the smartphone can impact your skin, making it dull and can cause dark circles and wrinkles.

6) Replace Screen Time with Hobbies: You can pursue your hobbies like painting, sketching, playing sports, cooking or anything you love.

7) Uninstall Apps: Delete those apps that you consume most of the time.
