Rain Alert: Delhi and Several Other States to Brace Rainfall, Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds
Delhi and many other states will witness rains in coming days and the citizens may get some relief from the heat. The India Meteorological Department has predicted a break for Delhi-NCR beginning tonight, with light rain, thunderstorms and strong winds, after days of extreme heat throughout northern India.
The prediction calls for a change in the weather starting on April 28, with mild rain, thunderstorms, dust storms and winds between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 50 kmph. Daytime temperatures are predicted to fall a little from 40 to 42 degrees Celsius, with an additional minor drop to 39 to 41 degrees Celsius on April 29.
Scattered to isolated rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds could be seen in Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh. The meteorological agency predicts that thundersqualls with speeds of 50 to 60 kmph are also possible in certain spots in these regions.
Isolated light to moderate precipitation, along with thunder and lightning, are predicted for the southern peninsula. According to the IMD, strong winds with speeds of up to 50 kmph are possible in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
In spite of the rain in many parts of the nation, the IMD warned that heat wave conditions are still very likely to occur in isolated areas of central and northwest India, such as sections of Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Vidarbha. Additionally, it is anticipated that the hot, muggy weather will persist in coastal regions like Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
