Delhi and Pune got a respite from the scorching heat and humidity for about a month after the heavy rains and thunderstorms. On Friday, Pune city witnessed heavy rainfall bringing relief. The pre-monsoon showers in Delhi and Pune gave a cold and clean climate for the moment.

After days of intense heat, some Delhi residents found relief from heavy winds, thunderstorms and rain, according to the reports. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) first issued an orange alert, but it was later changed to a yellow alert, advising the public about light rain and strong winds, reported by PTI.

Unfortunately, respite appears fleeting, as orange warnings for a predicted heat wave are still in effect for Sunday and the following five days. In Pune, many areas faced the impact of the heavy rainfall and winds. With the stormy winds and unexpected rains, trees fell on roads, disrupting traffic in many areas.

Some parts also faced waterlogging, but despite that, these rains had a cooling effect on the atmosphere. According to the reports, in the parts of the damaged area, the situation is now stable. Over a period of one month, the heat has been crossing the highest limit now. As the monsoon is arriving, it has given relief to the citizens.
