“Op Sindoor Was Just a Trailer”: Army Chief Warns Pakistan After Delhi Blast
Speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue, Gen. Dwivedi cautioned Pakistan, stating that the 88-hour-long Operation Sindoor could be just a glimpse of India’s capabilities. “The movie hadn’t even begun; it was just a trailer. If Pakistan gives us an opportunity, we will teach them how a neighbour should behave,” he said.
Reaffirming India’s zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism, the Army Chief remarked that “blood and water cannot flow together”, making it clear that dialogue cannot continue while terrorist activities persist. He further added, “We know where the threats come from. India will respond to those who promote terrorism even if the message arrives as a ‘barren letter’.”
Gen. Dwivedi highlighted that after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, India has established a “new normal” its security forces are prepared to take action against any nation attempting to derail India’s progress.
“India is not scared of blackmail attempts. All we ask for is a peaceful process. Until then, we will treat terrorists and their sponsors alike,” he said.
Improved Security in Jammu & Kashmir
The Army Chief also pointed to a substantial decline in terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
“After August 5, 2019, political clarity has emerged, and terrorist incidents have significantly dropped,” he noted.
Delhi Terror Attack: What Happened
On 10 November, a car blast near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort Metro Station killed at least 12 people and injured several others. Investigators believe the suspect originally planned a conventional explosion but switched to a fidayeen-style attack after learning that a Faridabad-based terror module had been busted, suggesting an attempt to maximize casualties and avoid arrest.
In connection with the attack, the NIA detained Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore (Jammu & Kashmir). He was apprehended in Delhi after an extensive search operation and is currently being interrogated by central agencies as part of the ongoing investigation.
