Mumbai to Experience Hot, Humid Weather in Coming Days, AQI Improves; IMD Issues Yellow Alert
According to the forecast, Mumbai will have severe heat with high humidity in the coming days. According to reports, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert. From May 6 to May 9, 2026, there will be a yellow alert for the city and surrounding areas. According to some reports that were highlighted, people should refrain from going outside in the afternoon because of the intense heat and humidity.
Also, people need to stay hydrated throughout the day. Wear comfortable clothes, like light colored or cotton. Keep children away from playing in the afternoon as the heat rises during that time. High levels of humidity will result in very uncomfortable and sweaty situations, especially in the hottest parts of the afternoon. Mumbai’s AQI has slightly improved too.
Temperatures in Mumbai are predicted to go beyond 36 degrees Celsius and nearby Thane district might reach over 39 degrees Celsius in the next few days. There is a warning about possible discomfort, but reports indicate that there are no official heatwave conditions.
The IMD has predicted that temperatures will continue to rise in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri from May 6 to May 8. While Mumbai and the Konkan region prepare for very hot weather, other areas of Maharashtra, such as Vidarbha and Marathawada, are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in the upcoming days.
