The busiest airport is to remain shut for six long hours on Thursday, May 7. According to the reports, Mumbai airport is to shut down its operations for pre-monsoon maintenance. This could result in delays in flights.
Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) worked with airlines and aviation officials to plan this closure six months ahead of time, allowing many carriers to adjust their timetables. Both the primary and secondary runways will remain closed. The operations will be shut from 11 am to 5 pm.
As stated above, many passengers on both domestic and international flights will experience disruptions such as cancellations, delays and changes in their flight routes. Airlines could change flight routes to other airports close by, such as Pune, Ahmedabad and Goa or provide connections through Delhi, Bengaluru or Chennai, as per the reports.
As monsoon approaches, maintaining the largest and busiest airport is highly important. Before checking in for the flight, passengers must check for the updated changes amidst the shutdown tomorrow.
