On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for severe rain in Mumbai and several neighboring Maharashtra districts as the southwest monsoon drew closer. Rain is increasing in the city, according to recent weather data.
Places like Ratnagiri at 147 mm and Murud at 150 mm had especially high activity in coastal Konkan and Mumbai. The rebirth has also moved inland to Tamhini Ghat, Nagothane in Raigad, Alibaug and areas around Pune.
