The long wait for extensive monsoon showers in Mumbai is now over. The Southwest Monsoon is predicted to arrive in Mumbai within the next 48 hours, according to the IMD, which would bring sustained rainfall throughout the city and nearby districts.

According to a new statement released by the IMD on Tuesday, the southwest monsoon has advanced into additional portions of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, as well as the remaining sections of the middle Arabian Sea, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.

On Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for severe rain in Mumbai and several neighboring Maharashtra districts as the southwest monsoon drew closer. Rain is increasing in the city, according to recent weather data.

Places like Ratnagiri at 147 mm and Murud at 150 mm had especially high activity in coastal Konkan and Mumbai. The rebirth has also moved inland to Tamhini Ghat, Nagothane in Raigad, Alibaug and areas around Pune. The orange alert that has been issued indicates that the rainfall intensity will reach its highest point during the next 24 to 48 hours, providing relief that is desperately needed.
