First ‘Made in India’ C-295 Successfully Carries Out Maiden Test Flight
An important achievement has been made as the first ‘Made in India’ C-295 successfully carried out its maiden test flight. On Wednesday, India’s inaugural privately produced military transport aircraft, the Airbus C-295, achieved a noteworthy milestone by effectively completing its first test flight from the Vadodara-based Final Assembly Line (FAL).
Around Rs. 21, 935 crore is being spent by the Indian Air Force to buy 56 C-295 transport aircraft, according to the reports. It is expected that these planes will begin to be delivered in September of this year. In collaboration with Airbus, Tata Advanced Systems Limited will assemble forty of these planes at a production plant in Vadodara, as the reports say.

Airbus Defense said on X that, “A game changer in the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision, the C295 India programme is the first instance of a military aircraft being manufactured in India by the private sector. We thank the Indian Air Force, Ministry of Defense and Government of India, for their unwavering trust in us. We are building the future of Indian aerospace.”
