The weather in Delhi is changing dramatically. According to reports, the city has experienced unusual rainfall over the past few days, as well as a reprieve from the heat and an improvement in air quality.

As a result of this most recent rainstorm, March is currently the wettest month it has been in the last three years. So far this month, the city has experienced an average rainfall of 9.4 mm, which is close to the typical monthly average of 12.6 mm. In 2023, when rainfall reached 50.4 mm, it was the last time that higher rainfall was observed in March.

The temperature in Delhi and surrounding districts was further lowered by the mild rain, thunder and lightning that struck Delhi-NCR on Friday. In addition, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Friday.

The weather service has predicted mostly cloudy weather, with the possibility of intermittent, very light rain throughout the day. Thunderstorms with lightning and powerful surface winds of 30-40 kmph, with gusts of up to 50 kmph, are predicted.
