A significant number of devotees travel to Uttarakhand to seek blessings via the Char Dham Yatra, which includes the temples of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Every year, the yatra starts on Akshaya Tritiya and ends on Bhai Dooj.

Many pilgrims with their families, relatives, friends come to Uttarakhand for the magnificent yatra.  According to the reports, the Char Dham Yatra started on Sunday, April 19, with the opening of the Yamunotri and Gangotri shrines on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, following a six month hiatus during the winter. The Yamunotri temple’s gates opened at 12.35 pm, while those of the Gangotri shrine opened at 12.15 pm.

The inauguration took place at the Gangotri temple, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami offered prayers for the welfare of the nation. Furthermore, he claimed that the state administration has taken strong measures to guarantee a safe and seamless pilgrimage. He implored devotees to back a yatra that is environmentally friendly and clean.

According to reports, mobile phones and cameras are now prohibited in all temple grounds. Around 19 lakh pilgrims have signed up for the pilgrimage thus far this year, according to media reports. Over 51 lakh pilgrims participated in the Char Dham Yatra last year.
