Verity Teaser Out: Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett Stun Audience in Colleen Hoover’s Book-Adapted Thriller

One of the most anticipated book-adapted movies is none other than Colleen Hoover’s Verity, starring Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett in the lead roles. The trio will be playing mind-boggling games in the psychological thriller. On April 27, Amazon MGM released the teaser of Verity, which is slated to hit the theatres on October 2, 2026. 

Dakota Johnson plays the role of Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling novelist who gets hired to finish the latest book from best-selling author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. After an accident leaves her unable to complete it, Lowen works to complete the project. However, she discovers a disturbing, unfinished manuscript that raises questions about Verity’s mental stability. Here’s a look at the teaser.

Verity Teaser Out: Here’s What to Expect from the Psychological Thriller?

The teaser of Verity kicks off with Lowen slinking around the Crawford family house wearing a silk robe while Verity is fast asleep in bed. With Verity essentially bedridden, her husband Jeremy romances with Lowen. As the teaser unfolds, the two lock lips; however, Lowen notices blood on her mouth, and she realizes that something even more sinister is happening. It’s not Jeremy she’s kissing, but Verity. Petrified Lowen leans back and appears to be in sheer shock. Verity says, “Even with my generous warning, you’re going to continue to ingest my words. But know one thing: there is no light where we’re going. Darkness ahead.” In a nutshell, the makers have done full justice to the book from which it is adapted. 

The book-to-film adaptation is also based on the work of the BookTok phenomenon, Hoover Colleen. The author already has a massive fan following, and now with the books being adapted to silver screens, they can’t help but wait until it hits the theatrical screen. Hoover’s three films, It Ends With Us, Reminders of Him, and Regretting You, all performed well at the box office. Now, all eyes are on her upcoming release, Verity.
