Perfect Crown Teaser OUT: IU and Byeon Woo-seok’s Upcoming Romantic K-Drama Leaves Fans Intrigued

On March 12, the makers of Perfect Crown unveiled its teaser. Directed by Park Joon Hwa and Bae Hee Young, the K-drama stars IU and Byeon Woo-seok in lead roles. The freshly dropped teaser showcases the intense chemistry between the duo, leaving fans in a frenzy. The drama premieres on April 10 at 9:40 pm. KST (6:10 pm IST) on MBC and will be streaming on Disney+. After the premiere episode, new episodes will be released every Friday and Saturday.

The romantic comedy drama is set in a modern South Korea, operating under a constitutional monarchy. It chronicles the contract marriage between a chaebol heiress and a royal prince, a lonely being who struggles with politics and many more. Alongside IU and Byeon Woo Seok, the drama will also feature Noh Sang Hyun, Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Su Bin, Lee Yeon, and Chae Seon An, among others.

The Perfect Crown teaser showcases Seong Hee Ju (played by IU), the second daughter of the renowned chaebol family in the country, who has almost everything, including beauty and intelligence, but her commoner status becomes an obstacle in her life. To seek the royal status, she decides to marry Prince Yian (played by Byeon Woo Seok), the second son of the King. 

Although he is admired by the public for his dignity and leadership, Yian Daegun faces limitations within the royal hierarchy because he is the second son and cannot ascend the throne. How their fate changes after they meet forms the central idea of the love saga. Moments shown in the teaser suggest that their relationship develops through a contract marriage arrangement. Bankrolled by MBC and Kakao Entertainment, the Korean drama is scheduled to premiere next month.
