Marty Supreme Trailer: Timothée Chalamet Shines As Table-Tennis Prodigy Marty Mauser

Marty Supreme is a fictionalized account of the real-life table tennis prodigy Marty Reisman, who has five world championship medals under his belt. The film stars Timothée Chalamet in the lead role, while the rest of the cast includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Tyler Okonma, known professionally as Tyler, the Creator, Penn Jillette, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, and Abel Ferrara. Such a team of fabulous actors pays a stylish ode to the ambition and artistry of the ping-pong legend.

Channelling vulnerability and wild confidence at its best, Chalamet brilliantly portrays the character Mauser. Each of the table tennis matches transforms into a symphony of sweat, rhythm, and ego. Amidst all the struggle, he is seen chasing his passion for ping pong through 1950s New York. As an underestimated player, Mauser embarks on a quest for respect that propels his way through smoky clubs, crumpled hotel rooms, and then straight into the arms of a Hollywood movie star portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow.

In other parts of the trailer, viewers can catch a glimpse of the protagonist and Okonma’s character indulging in sports gambling and winning a significant amount of money at an amateur tournament.
