After the massive success of 2024’s Mahavatar Narsimha animated film, the makers dropped the first look of the second instalment titled Mahavatar Parshuram. On the special occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, Hombale Films released the teaser of the upcoming mythological animated drama. The Mahavatar Cinematic Universe expands and gets bigger with Mahavatar Parshuram, the second film based on Lord Vishnu’s avatars. Scheduled to hit cinemas in December 2027, the movie aims to tell the saga of justice and valour, blending mythology with a contemporary narrative.

Following the blockbuster run of Mahavatar Narsimha, Hombale Films and Kleem Productions have planned seven parts in the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. Here’s what to expect from the second chapter.

Mahavatar Parshuram First Glimpse OUT: What to Expect?

Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the makers unveiled the official poster of Mahavatar Parshuram on the special occasion of Parshuram Jayanti. The animated films are expected to be a part of the seven-chapter Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, inspired by the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.

Backed by producers Vijay Kiragandur and Shilpaa Dhawan, the film will hit theatres in December 2027. The poster shows a fierce warrior holding a heavily blood‑stained battle axe in the middle of a battlefield. The tagline “Where Patience Ends, the Axe of Parshuram Begins!” hints at a narrative rooted in conflict and retribution. The motion‑poster note adds, “When Dharma Falls, The Parshu Rise, Tanno Parshuram Prachodayat,” underlining the film’s focus on the warrior‑sage’s role in restoring righteousness. In a nutshell, the upcoming chapter tells the story of Parshuram, believed to be Vishnu’s warrior avatar. He took on oppressive Kshatriya rulers who had strayed from the path of righteousness.

While the full cast has not yet been revealed, the early announcement and poster reveal have already sparked strong interest, leaving fans intrigued about mythological cinema ahead. The first film, Mahavatar Narsimha, traced the stories of Lord Vishnu’s Varaha and Narsimha avatars. After an impressive theatrical run, the film is now streaming on Netflix.
