Legendary superstar of Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal, is all set to return to the silver screen with Tharun Moorthy’s directorial L366. The actor will once again be essaying the role of a police officer in the cop action comedy. Tentatively titled L366, the film is still being shot in Thodupuzha, Kerala. On January 29, 2026, the makers revealed the lead actor’s first look, introducing him as TS Lovelajan. Take a closer look at Mohanlal’s character!

Mohanlal, aka Lalettan, and director Tharun Moorthy took to social media to introduce the lead character. The post was captioned as, “Introducing pure love in human form – TS Lovelajan.” In this upcoming film, Mohanlal portrays the role of a Kerala Police sub-inspector. Additionally, he hails from a middle-class family and sports his classic moustache. The first look gives fans and movie lovers a subtle yet realistic introduction to his character. 

After the success of 2025’s Thudarum, L366 marks the reunion of the actor and director. The upcoming film, Mohanlal will essay the role of a sub-inspector working in a local police station. Penned by Ratheesh Ravi, the comedy cop-action drama will star Meera Jasmine as the female co-lead. 

Earlier the Austin Das was named as the director. However, due to creative differences, the project was passed on to director Tharun Moorthy. On the work front, Mohanlal is all set to hit the silver screens with Drishyam 3 on April 2, 2026. The year for the actor will definitely be packed with back-to-back blockbuster releases.
