Gavin Leatherwood Joins the Cast of ‘It Happened One Summer’, Based on Tessa Bailey’s Hit Rom-Com Novel

Gavin Leatherwood’s fans, assemble! There’s some good news for you all! Gavin Leatherwood has joined the cast of Peter Hutching’s rom-com “It Happened One Summer,” based on Tessa Bailey’s best-selling book. The actor joins Nina Dobrev, Tyler Hoechlin and Virginia Gardner, who were earlier announced as part of the film. Currently, the crew is filming in New York.

“It Happened One Summer” was Bailey’s eponymous 2021 bestseller, the first instalment in the Bellinger Sisters series. The romance book series became a hit on TikTok subcommunity BookTok, selling two million copies in the US.

As the filming of “It Happened One Summer” is underway, the series has already sparked a significant buzz online. With a new update of Leatherwood joining the cast, fans’ excitement has heightened. He will portray the role of Fox Thornton, Brendan’s best friend and fellow fisherman, a charismatic ladies’ man whose easy charm masks a deeper loyalty and vulnerability. Speaking about his role, the author Bailey stated, “It wasn’t easy to find someone with the charm and swagger of Fox Thornton, but we did it. So thrilled to have Gavin on board.”
