Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh’s war epic Border 2 has been performing extremely well at the box office. It earned over Rs 100 crore and surpassed Dhurandhar’s opening weekend. The most-awaited sequel of the 1997 cult classic, Border, is raining with positive reviews from fans, critics, and the rest of the audience.
Released on January 23, 2026, the action-war film has collected Rs 196.50 crore. Amid Border 2’s blockbuster success, producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta officially announced Border 3, taking the franchise’s legacy forward.

It is no news that Border 2 has registered an exceptional opening weekend at the box office. Adding to the buzz, producers Bhushan Kumar from T-Series and Nidhi Dutta from JPFilms officially announced their collaboration to carry the iconic franchise forward with Border 3.
The makers aim to stay true to the franchise’s core values. No sooner did they announce the making of Border 3 than fans couldn’t contain their excitement. More details regarding the storyline, cast, and director are still under wraps. Nonetheless, the announcement itself signals a bigger vision for the next chapter. Reportedly, the war epic will keep its focus on the bravery of Indian soldiers intact with an intense yet emotional storytelling. After the initial planning and scripting phase, the shoot for Border 3 will begin.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 has struck an emotional chord with audiences. As per Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 19.50 crore in India, pushing its domestic total to Rs 196.50 crore and worldwide collection to Rs 270.7 crore. On day 5, the theatres saw an occupancy of 24.82 per cent in the Hindi language.
