Techie Says Father’s Failed IIT JEE Attempt Became the ‘Biggest Gift of his Life’, See Post
A software expert located in New York City and a graduate of IIT has stated that his father’s 1980 failure on the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) was the best thing that had ever happened to him. The user Akash Sampurnanand Pandey described on X (previously Twitter) how his father hitchhiked 200 km that summer to the exam center with just Rs. 10.
According to Pandey, his father had learned about the esteemed JEE test only six months prior and had chosen to give it a try without much preparation. Pandey’s father, who was the smartest student in his village, completely failed to respond to a single question. He did, however, never voice any animosity towards it. Instead, during his son’s upbringing, he talked of IITians with admiration, treating them as celebrities.
According to Pandey, his father occasionally said that he was unable to urge his son to sit for an exam he had previously failed. Therefore, in a situation that can only be characterized as a life coming full circle, Pandey was able to clear the JEE on his first attempt in 2012. With a lot of emotion, his father applauded the outcome.
