82-Year-Old Woman Run Over by BEST Bus in Mumbai’s Mulund
 
                                    An 82-year-old woman lost her life after being run over by a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus in Mumbai’s Mulund West on Wednesday morning.
The accident took place around 10:30 am at Panch Rasta (M A Chowk) on P K Road, according to a BEST spokesperson. The bus, which was heading towards the Mulund depot from Mira Road, had halted at a traffic signal when the incident occurred.
Officials said the victim, identified as Ushaben Jamnadas Kherani, was standing on the footpath when she reportedly lost her balance and fell onto the road near the bus. As the signal turned green, the driver moved the vehicle forward, unaware that Kherani had fallen close to the rear wheel.
She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Mulund, but doctors declared her dead shortly after admission at 10:50 am.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and BEST officials expressed condolences over the tragic death.
