IND W vs AUS W: Jemimah Rodrigues Couldn’t Hold Tears, Share Emotional Moment with Parents, “They Believed in…”

The Indian women’s cricket team’s victory over Australia in the semi-final was a moment of pride for all Indians. Jemimah Rodrigues, who stood out as the woman of the match, and the women’s cricket team both had great success. The semi-final between Australia and India was held on Thursday at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Everyone stood motionless after winning the moment and sobbed uncontrollably during the genuinely magical hours.

The Indian team chased 339, which is the highest successful run chase in women’s ODI history. Jemimah Rodrigues was unbeaten at 127 runs off 134 balls, making history. In the post-match interview, Jemimah expressed herself, stating that, “Firstly, I want to thank Jesus, because I couldn’t do this on my own. I know he carried me through today. I want to thank my mum, my dad, my coach and every single person who believed in me. It has been really hard these last four months, but it just feels like a dream, and it hasn’t sunk in yet.”

Rodrigues also mentioned that she was anxious and troubled by self-doubt, but her family and teammates supported her. She has shared an emotional Instagram post after winning the match. She shared her emotional moment captured with her parents. Jemimah couldn’t hold her tears of joy as she hugged her parents tightly.  She wrote, “They believed in me when I didn’t! I’m blessed to have them in my life.”

Many celebs and cricketers also congratulated them on the win. Virat Kohli shared a post, stating, “What a victory by our team over a mighty opponent like Australia. A great chase by the girls and a standout performance by Jemimah in a big game. A true display of resilience, belief, and passion. Well done, Team India!”

The Indian women’s cricket team won the semi-final by 5 wickets. IND W scored 341/5 in 48.3 overs and AUS W scored 338 runs in 49.5 overs.
