When Will EPF Interest Be Credited in Your Account? Know How to Check
If you are a full-time employee and you have a PF account, then you should check whether the interest is credited or not. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) maintained the interest rate for the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) at 8.25% for the Financial Year 2025-26 in March.
However, according to reports, many EPFO subscribers are still confused as they have not yet gotten the EPF interest credited to their accounts, even though the new financial year 2026-27 began two months ago. Many people are beginning to question whether such a delayed interest payment would cost them money. Let’s review the method.
How To Check EPF Interest Credit?
EPF interest is shown in the passbook or balance of the member once it is credited. Updates are available to subscribers through the following:
1) UMANG Mobile application
2) Member of the EPFO e-Sewa gateway
3) An SMS service and a service for missed calls. These methods give staff the ability to check their EPF balance and confirm interest credit immediately.
Interest Rate:
The first week of March 2026 saw the decision on the interest rate made. The Central Board of Trustees proposed an 8.25% annual interest rate on EPF deposits for 2025-2026, according to a press release from the Ministry of Labour and Employment dated March 2. The government subsequently announced that the suggested interest rate would be officially announced before the EPFO moves forward with crediting interest to subscriber accounts. However, the actual credit timeline was not specified.
