Founder Explains Decision to Hire Tier-2 City Candidate, Calling It His ‘Best Hire’
A post is going viral where a man shares his experience of hiring a person from a Tier-2 city. He calls it the best hire. While many skill sets are required for the best candidate, the founder who shared the story had a different approach.
Kanan Bahl, who is a founder of a company, shared his experience on X, saying he had interviewed a candidate from a Tier-2 city whose English was not good. However, there was one area in which the applicant excelled and that was the sample assignment. He was hesitant to hire him, but he did it anyway.
He explained, “I interviewed a guy from a Tier-2 city whose English was terrible. But he was too good with his sample task. I was still overthinking about hiring him because his role involved facing the clients. I still hired him!” he said. He continued saying, “I was tired of hiring people great with their English but terrible with their technical skills. Today he’s my best hire.”
