A partial lunar eclipse will be seen from India tomorrow, 3rd March 2026. It will be visible in India. In this article let’s understand the timings and details.

As the Moon passes through the shadow of the Earth on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, sky observers in certain areas of India will be treated to a brief but spectacular celestial show during a partial lunar eclipse.

When the Sun, Earth and Moon are not perfectly aligned, the Moon only passes through a portion of the Earth’s umbra. Without ever completely covering the Moon, the shadow widens and then retreats.

Although the complete dramatic ‘blood moon’ effect will be best seen in eastern and north-eastern India, where the moon rises earlier during totality, in central and southern cities like Nagpur, Chennai and Pune, the view will be shorter and partial.

Cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai will experience the eclipse between 6:20 and 6:30 PM IST. Because the Moon rises earlier in the northeastern Indian states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya residents will experience better vision, as per the media reports and also highlighted by TOI.
