The stunning picture is now going viral everywhere and also people are pouring through the comment section with their awestruck reactions. Using satellite photos, NASA produced a new global map showing how the nighttime light on Earth has changed for nine years, as per NASA’s X post.

Scientists examined 1.6 million satellite photos that were taken every night for nine years. Due to urbanization, notably in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, nighttime light levels in northern India rose, according to the reports.

According to the reports, the researchers at the University of Connecticut, led by Tian Li and Zhe Zhu, utilized a novel algorithm to analyze the images taken by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS).

Nighttime lights are represented by the purple regions, while brighter nighttime lights are represented by the golden areas. The majority of India, China, the Middle East and Central America are gold, whereas the United States has gold regions in the west and a predominance of purple and white in the east. In the meantime, the majority of Europe was purple, indicating that there was dimming throughout the area at this time.
