H-1B Visa: US Open Registration for FY27, Confirms 100,000 US Dollar Fee for Select Employers

Since the US now imposes a staggering 100,000 USD visa cost for the H-1B visa, the prospect of finding the perfect job in the US has become prohibitively expensive. After paying the confirmed fee for FY27, interested parties can submit their visa applications for registration. The window will be open between March 4 and March 19, 2026. The exorbitant cost will be borne by the selected workers, as per the reports.

The first registration period for the fiscal year 2027 H-1B visa cap will begin at noon Eastern time on March 4, 2026 and end at noon Eastern time on March 19, 2026, according to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. Employers are required to register online and pay a charge of 215 USD for each beneficiary. The outcome of the selection process is anticipated by March 31, 2026.

The September 2025 statement issued by US President Donald Trump, “Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers,” was also mentioned by USCIS.

In order to safeguard the salaries, working conditions and employment prospects of American employees, the new selection procedure will prioritize awarding visas to candidates with higher skill levels and compensation, according to USCIS. USCIS will choose a weighted selection from properly submitted registrations if the annual limit is surpassed by the number of registrations.

For the FY 2027 cap season, the Department of Homeland Security has modified the regulations governing how registrations are chosen for special beneficiaries.

According to USCIS, all workers are required to register on time and submit their application via a USCIS online account. Employers who do not currently have an account are required to open one. Although legal representatives are free to add company clients at any time, beneficiary information and payments can only be made after the registration window opens on March 4.
