Business and technology are booming hand in hand. Now, in the potential digital and artifical intelligence era, many are opting for strategic business moves. Now, Amazon is also going to have a whopping investment. Amazon is in the preliminary stages of discussions about a potential 50 billion USD investment in OpenAI, according to the reports. Many international media reports have highlighted this and there is a buzz on social media about the topic.

Such a massive investment by Amazon would strengthen the connection between the e-commerce behemoth and OpenAI, which has long supported Anthropic, a competitor of OpenAI. Additionally, it would be the most recent instance of a circular financing arrangement between a major AI company and a provider of chips and cloud computing services, according to the sources.

The Wall Street Journal previously published the 50 billion USD figure and stated that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is in charge of the talks with Altman. The newspaper also reported, citing sources with knowledge of the situation, that OpenAI is attempting to raise up to 100 billion USD in new funding from investors.

Executives are also secretly worried that Anthropic might go public first, according to a separate Journal story, as the business gets ready for an initial public offering in the fourth quarter of 2026.
