As of now, many players have pulled out of the competition, leaving a major setback for the Miami Open. As per the reports, around 21 of them have withdrawn from the game, including Novak Djokovic.

Usually, the Miami Open gets off to an exciting start, but this year, the competition has been plagued by doubt, with many of the big stars missing from the courts. According to reports, this is a difficult time. The 2026 Miami Open, which began on March 15, has been in a difficult position due to the withdrawal of many of the tournament’s top players from the ATP and WTA 1000 competition as a result of excessive rain, as per the latest reports.

The number of withdrawals increased to 21 on March 17 after World No. 5 Lorenzo Musetti opted to withdraw. Musetti, the fourth seed in the Miami Open and a two time Grand Slam semifinalist, has been dealing with injury issues ever since he withdrew from his Australian Open quarterfinal match against Novak Djokovic in mid January.

The absence of Novak Djokovic is the most obvious, as the reports say. After making it to the fourth round of Indian Wells, the World No. 3 and 2025 Miami Open runner up, who has won the competition six times, is not participating this year.

One of the most well-known absentees is former US Open winner and World No. 23 Emma Raducanu. Because of persistent health problems related to a virus she caught last month, the British player withdrew. During Indian Wells, where she had a tough competition, her challenges were clear and her absence from Miami highlights the lasting effects of her sickness.
