Between March 26 and May 31, the next iteration of the Indian Premier League will take place. 10 teams spent Rs. 215.45 crore on 77 players during the IPL 2026 auction this time.

In the most expensive signing of an international player in the history of franchise contests worldwide, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired Cameron Green for Rs. 25.20 crore, establishing a global record, while CSK signed Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma for record bids of Rs. 14.20 crore apiece. KKR bought Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana for Rs. 18 crore, according to the reports.

Venkatesh Iyer’s fortunes plummeted after he was bought by KKR for Rs. 23.75 crore the previous year. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) paid Rs. 7 crore to purchase him.

With a budget of only Rs. 2.5 crore, the Mumbai Indians initiated the bidding for Green at Rs. 2 crore, followed by the Rajasthan Royals. At Rs. 2.8 crore, KKR then joined in. The exit price for RR was approximately Rs. 13 crore. The price was then driven over Rs. 20 crore by the entry of the Chennai Super Kings into the fray. KKR made a last offer of Rs. 25.20 crore to acquire the player, although CSK had raised its bid to Rs. 25 crore, according to the TOI.
