ICC Announces Record Prize Pool Of Rs 82 Crore For Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
The forthcoming Women’s T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in England and Wales in two months, will have a record prize pool of Rs. 82 crore, as announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday. The entire prize pool has increased by 10% since the last iteration.
The tournament, which will be held in seven locations from June 12 to July 5, will include 12 more teams than the 10 in 2024, with the championship game taking place at Lord’s Cricket Ground, according to the PTI.
The victors will bring home USD 2,340,000 (about Rs. 21.8 crore), while the runners up will earn USD 1,170,000 (about Rs. 10 crore). Teams will make USD 31,154 (Rs. 29 lakh) for each group match victory and the losing semi finalists will receive USD 675,000 (Rs. 6.29 crore).
In a statement, the ICC stated that all 12 participating teams will earn an assured minimum prize pot of USD 247,500 (Rs. 2.06 crore approx). On June 12, the competition will begin with a match between hosts England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
