After losing a high paying job, an employee who has now shifted to gig work due to sustaining stability, shared his experience of having difficulty while paying off his EMI for a home loan.

The financial precariousness that many earners experience is brought into focus by the fact that a high earning tech worker was compelled to work as a Rapido driver after being unexpectedly laid off. After losing his job, the man, who was said to have made Rs. 40 lakh annually until recently, is now having trouble making ends meet with a monthly home loan EMI of Rs. 95,000.

Based on information from a widely shared video, the techie was certain that his earnings were secure and had bought a 1.4 crore 3BHK apartment in 2024. His career was on track, the EMI seemed manageable in comparison to his pay and the choice seemed reasonable at the moment. The home, which stood for years of hard work and economic advancement, was situated in Ghaziabad’s Prateek Grand City, according to the post shared.

This post was shared by @Vivek_4580ji on X. He was very happy about accomplishing this goal, as his friend remembered. His consistent income gave him confidence in his long standing ambition of owning a large flat in a top notch residential development. But that feeling of stability was fleeting.

He has taken up driving for Rapido in order to deal with the growing financial burden. Every journey helps a little bit toward covering his significant monthly expenses, as mentioned in the post.

He had clear indicators of emotional distress, as observed by a buddy who had just met him. His anxiety has increased as a result of the unpredictability of finding a new work and what was previously his dream house has now become a cause for concern. Now, as he deals with the repercussions of a choice he made when things were better, his mind is filled with remorse and sleepless nights.
