Eknath Shinde Taunts Uddhav Thackeray Over Maharashtra Floods and Warns Mumbai Residents Ahead of Civic Body Elections

On Thursday, at the Dussehra rally held at NESCO Grounds in Goregaon, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde criticized Uddhav Thackeray, saying that Mumbai could go back 25 years if the Mahayuti government is not elected in the civic polls. He added, “We have to take Mumbai ahead. All of us must sink our differences and work together.”

The rally was initially scheduled at Azad Maidan but was shifted to NESCO Grounds due to heavy rainfall. However, Shinde claimed that he had personally reduced the size of the rally as his workers were engaged in relief efforts for flood-affected areas.

Addressing Maharashtra’s flood-hit farmers, he said, “The topsoil of farms has been washed away, and cattle have perished. As a government, we will provide aid. I, along with Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, have a meeting on Friday. My hands are never empty. I always give. We must help the flood-affected extensively and take responsibility for arranging marriages for youth in these areas.”

Shinde’s speech was filled with digs at Thackeray. He remarked, “I have never seen a person who wants to decimate his own party members. Balasaheb Thackeray left a legacy of leaders. Who is responsible for the current state of the party? After the local body elections, even his shadow will not be with him.”

He also highlighted his party’s efforts to support farmers, stating, “We provided kits containing 26 items to flood-affected farmers.” Taunting Thackeray, he added, “Have you even given a packet of biscuits?”

Shinde concluded by announcing that he would celebrate Bal Thackeray’s birthday in a big way in 2026.
