Rs 1.5 Lakh Salary But Zero Savings, Gurugram Techie Shares Financial Reality, Asks Advice
A techie is sharing his story where he mentions that although being paid well every month, he cannot manage to save money and now he asks for help and advice online. He has shared a post in which he describes the financial reality he is facing currently.
A software developer has sparked an internet discussion after detailing his challenges in one of the most costly urban centers in the nation. Highlighting the growing financial constraints placed on young millennials and Gen Z professionals, the tech worker, who is 27 years old and just married, outlined a monthly budget that leaves him with almost no space.
The software engineer admitted that even though his monthly salary is Rs. 1.44 lakh, his fixed obligations consume about eighty percent of it. The highest amount is a large Rs. 44,000 monthly payment for a plot of land, which is quickly followed by Rs. 25,000 for rent in Gurugram.
His regular expenses comfortably reach Rs. 1.1 lakh every month, with the addition of daily expenditures such as groceries, gas and odd weekend excursions. This does not include unavoidable but unexpected expenses like medical bills, insurance premiums and vehicle maintenance, which often exhaust whatever few savings are left, according to him.

Beyond the stark numbers, the post deeply affected online users when the author acknowledged experiencing intense guilt and pressure from their peers. He admitted that watching peers his own age make twice as much money as him was extremely tough and made him feel insufficient about his capacity to give his parents and new wife a carefree life. He has borrowed Rs. 2.25 lakh from close friends as a result of the situation and he is currently giving priority to paying down this loan.
