Million Dollar Extravaganza: 5 Most Expensive Weddings In India

Indian weddings are now incomplete without expensive locations, entertainment, cuisine, expensive gifts and opulent furnishings. The following are the five weddings which are among the most costly in the country to date.

‘Extravaganza weddings’ are lavish, opulent, that go beyond the norm, placing an emphasis on luxury and grandeur. These weddings, which are a major component of the wedding industry, frequently feature destination sites, lavish decor, high end entertainment, expensive presents and numerous ceremonies.

Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani: Their wedding is estimated with cost between Rs. 4 and 5 thousand crores, which is between 400 and 600 million dollars. This wedding is widely regarded as the most expensive because it features lavish decorations, a variety of locations and top talent from throughout the world.

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal: The next most expensive wedding is that of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal. It is estimated that the wedding cost Rs. 700 crores. The celebration in 2018 was a lavish affair with a guest list of celebrities.

Sushanto and Seemanto Roy: The wedding of Sushanto and Seemanto Roy is estimated with cost Rs. 554 crores. In 2004, the sons of the late Sahara Group Chief Subrata Roy were married in a double ceremony. More than 11,000 people were said to have attended the festivities in Lucknow.

Brahmani Reddy and Rajiv Reddy: The five day wedding celebration for Brahmani Reddy and Rajiv Reddy took place at the Bangalore Palace in 2016 and it was estimated that there were 50,000 attendees. The wedding’s estimated cost is Rs. 500 crores.

Amit Bhatia and Vanisha Mittal: The wedding of Vanisha Mittal and Amit Bhatia is said to have cost more than Rs. 240 crores. This six day wedding took place in Paris, France in 2004.

Netra Mantena, the daughter of Rama Raju Mantena, had a multi day wedding in Udaipur recently, with A-list stars from across the globe, such as Justin Bieber and Jennifer Lopez, in attendance.

Factors of Expensive Weddings:

1. The opulent and beautiful surroundings of weddings held in places like Lake Como in Italy or Udaipur’s Udaivilas hotel are the reason they are chosen.
2. Since each event has a unique cost, the festivities often take place in a variety of locations and extend for a number of days.
3. VIPs and celebrities contribute to the event’s splendor and expense.
4. The cost may increase significantly when well known artists are hired.
5. The expensive prices are partly attributable to opulent floral arrangements and decor that occasionally mirror historical or specific themes.
6. The Ambani-Piramal wedding featured beautiful, personalized invitations that could cost much higher.
