Weather Update: South India to Brace for Heavy Rainfall, Low Pressure Area Over Southwest Bay of Bengal Says IMD

Weather fluctuations have been occurring in several parts of India over the last few days. The winter mood has nearly vanished from Mumbai and other areas of Maharashtra. Over the southwest Bay of Bengal, according to the IMD, there is a low pressure zone.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that a low pressure zone over the southwest Bay of Bengal will cause significant rainfall over south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala on Sunday, February 22.

The south gets ready for moisture as the north gets hotter. Due to the active weather system, the IMD has issued a warning to fishermen not to go into the southwest Bay of Bengal or the Kerala coast.

The IMD tweeted that on February 21st and 22nd, there would likely be isolated heavy rainfall over south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala in conjunction with the low pressure region over southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Equatorial Indian Ocean.

On Sunday, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds. Over the next 48 hours, the highest temperatures in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Northwest India and Central India will increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
