People residing in Northern India got an early winter surprise as snowfall covered its famous states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu- Kashmir with blankets of snow. As the states received their first snowfall, it sparked mesmerising experience and adventure for the residents but there’s also a latent alarming warming .

As the La Niña phase predicts an unexpected spike in pollution and fluctuation in the weather conditions, this snowfall is pointing towards early knocks of winter. Winter this year is expected to be chilling beyond tolerance.
As the states witnessed snowfall which enhanced the dazzling white beauty of Himalayas and resulted in happy season arrival for visitors but there is need for safety and precaution as there is yellow alert in some areas.

While the Himalayas are having their first snowfall, Delhi received heavy rain showers and a sharp dip in temperatures. As some parts of Delhi experienced low temperatures, started feeling the signals of winter vibes much ahead of its schedule.

“We can expect La Niña conditions to set in during the next few months. A detailed temperature outlook for the post-monsoon season will be issued soon,” said M Mohapatra, Director General, IMD.
