There has been a major update on the case the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) office Sameer Wankhede filed against Red Chillies for their show The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Aryan Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan, made his directorial debut with the series, which was released on Netflix on September 18, 2025.

Now, the Delhi High Court has sent summons to Red Chillies Entertainment Limited, which is owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Red Chillies Entertainment Limited produced the series, which received rave reviews from both the audience and critics alike.

According to a report by Bar and Bench, Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav summoned Shah Rukh Khan and others to seek their responses. The court said, “Let them take instructions and file a reply. Cannot pass an injunction order in general.” The next court hearing is scheduled for October 30, 2025. Furthermore, the lawyer of Sameer Wankhede has informed us that his client has amended the suit that was filed.

Regarding this matter, as reported by India Today, Wankhede stated, “In reference to the series, there are posts trolling me, my wife, and my sister.” It’s shocking. The defendants are surely not defending those posts.”

Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit for Rs 2 crore against Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies, Netflix, ‘X’ Corp, Google, Meta and RPG Lifestyle Media Pvt Ltd, a media outlet. In his plea, Sameer mentioned that in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the makers have cast a man who “resembles” him and “targets and ridicules” him. Wankhede demands the removal of the content and a ban on the parties making or publishing any “defamatory” statements about him.
