McDonald’s has been operating in India since 1996 and for the past 30 years, it has been the most popular and well-liked fast food establishment in the nation. However, a Jaipur restaurant has recently experienced hygiene issues after a scan revealed that the restaurant is using rotten tomatoes and reused oil. According to reports, the McDonald’s in Jaipur is now subject to a regulatory warning regarding this.
The practices were given 14 days to be corrected by Sushil Chotwani. The restaurants in Connaught Plaza are cooperating. According to an official speaking to Reuters, regulators confiscated samples for testing after a McDonald’s restaurant in Jaipur was found to have rotten tomatoes in storage and cooking oil that was unsafe for human consumption by Indian food safety authorities.
The government food safety inspectors visited the fast food restaurant outlet in Jaipur, a popular tourist destination in Rajasthan, earlier this week. Under the direction of officer Sushil Chotwani, they discovered more than 40 liters of used oil being actively used for cooking.
The officials then gathered samples for further testing after violating the food safety regulations, labeling the oil as unsuitable for human use. The establishment was a Connaught Plaza Restaurants franchise. However, McDonald’s India has not made an official announcement, according to the reports.
