Railway Minister Approves Bengaluru to Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, which will soon be running between two major tier 1 cities, will enhance India’s connectivity and make the journey more pleasant and enjoyable. A new Vande Bharat sleeper train between Mumbai and Bengaluru has received the approval from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
In order to improve long-distance rail connectivity throughout the nation, the new addition supports the government’s accelerated production plan, which aims to roll out 12 new sleeper rakes by December 2026.
The union minister officially approved the train route connecting the KSR Bengaluru railway station and Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in a letter to PC Mohan, BJP MP from Bangalore Central, dated April 5, 2026.

In his letter to the MP, the minister said, “Kindly refer to our discussion regarding the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Sleeper train between Mumbai and Bengaluru for public convenience.”
