After the global crude oil price surge, many equations are changing. Air India has announced a slab of prices that it will put into place over the course of three phases. Air India claimed that the choice was inevitable, citing circumstances beyond its control, but expressed its regret over it.

The carrier provided a list of rates that would be put into effect in three stages. Air India stated that it regrets the move but that it was unavoidable, citing circumstances beyond its control as the cause.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, a fuel surcharge of Rs. 399 would be levied on each domestic flight ticket beginning on March 12 during the first phase and the same would also apply to SAARC flights. The fuel charge will be 10 USD for flights to West Asia, with an increase of 30 USD to 90 USD for flights to Africa and an increase of 20 USD to 60 USD for services to Southeast Asia.

All of these modifications, including those affecting flights to and from Singapore, will take effect on March 12. There is now no fuel charge for Singapore services. The fuel tax for flights to Europe, North America and Australia would rise by 25 USD to 50 USD beginning on March 18, according to Air India’s second phase, as reported by PTI.

The fuel charge for flights to Europe will increase from 100 USD to 125 USD, while the fuel charge for flights to North America will increase from 150 USD to 200 USD. The fuel levy for flights to Australia will rise from 150 USD to 200 USD, according to the announcement, PTI reports further.
